Client FAQ's | Cincinnati, Ohio Photographer
Every session includes your reserved date, my time & talent, and an online photo gallery--it does not include prints-- which can be ordered via your online gallery, or downloaded to print wherever you would like. *Color and quality of prints are only guaranteed if you print through me. You can visit my website for more details: www.chelseaflowersphotography.com
What are the sessions like?
When you arrive at your selected location, (or I arrive at your home for an In-Home Session) leave the rest up to me. I like to pose and direct my clients, but I really love to capture the little candid moments in between that make a person or relationship unique.
The session will be relaxed and fun for all involved. It might feel weird or awkward with me directing poses, but I promise it will also be fun, and the end result is always worth it.
After your session I will go through all of your photos (this is called "culling") and I will pick out the very best photos from each of your poses or "candid" shots. Client's frequently ask if they can pick the photos they like best from their session, however- I do not offer that type of sit down meeting afterwards.
Why? During your session I will take anywhere from 100-500 shots and narrow it down to the best 20ish photos. Culling the session can take quite awhile, sometimes hours, and client's may feel overwhelmed due to the amount of photos presented to choose from, making it difficult to choose their favorites. Please trust me-- with 10+ years in this photography industry, I have a pretty good eye, and I have never had a client dislike their photos..
Once I have culled and edited your session, I will deliver your images via a link to your online gallery where you can order prints, share to social media, or download the images to print wherever you would like. *If you just aren't hip to the online gallery, and prefer your images delivered via USB instead, I can accommodate.
What should I wear?
Next to choosing the perfect location, 'what to wear' is one of the most asked questions from my clients. Make sure you plan ahead on choosing outfits. The last thing you want to do is to be rushing around the night before your session finding that perfect outfit. Color coordinate, but do not have everyone match exactly (as in everyone in jeans and a white T-shirt--this is too matchy-matchy and just doesn't make for good photos. Complimentary colors, or colors in the same family mixed with one or two patterns are great! Read more on color coordinating and what to wear for your session in my Welcome Guide: HERE.
What if the weather is bad and we need to reschedule?
There is no charge to reschedule. We will simply rain-check for another day and time. If you need to reschedule for reasons other than weather, I require at least a 24 hours notice.
When do I need to pay for my session?
All session fees are due in full on the day of your session. I take cash, card, or check. I will send a receipt via email after your session.
Are you willing to travel?
Absolutely! Contact me and we can discuss traveling costs.
When is the best time to do a Maternity Session?
28 to 32 weeks is perfect for most moms to be. This is a time frame where your beautiful belly is a nice size, yet you’re not as uncomfortable as you may be in your last few. Though I have shot maternity sessions up close to delivery with beautiful results, feedback from expecting moms has encouraged me to advise clients towards the earlier side where mommy-to-be is feeling the best and is most comfortable than you may be later in the pregnancy.
What is the difference between hiring you and going to a photo studio?
Hiring me will get you a lot more flexibility on what YOU want. From posing, candid shots, and unlimited types of posing. Not to mention, YOU get to choose the location where your session takes place, which makes it more special than using a studio. During your session, our goal is to have fun and make a memory of you being yourself. I work around the best natural light, and can create or recreate any style photo you like, and I will travel to wherever you would like. Should I bring anything?
You may bring anything you like! Outfit changes, props, toys, blankets, picnic baskets, books, food, your pets, whatever you can imagine being a part of a memory you want to freeze in time. Anything you want to do in the allotted time frame is OK with me!
When should I have my baby’s portraits taken?
I recommend doing a newborn shoot within 14 days of birth, and then again at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months--if you are wanting to document baby's first year. They grow so fast within that first year, and the changes will amaze you when you look back at the photos!
Schedule your newborn session in advance while you are still pregnant – obviously we will not settle on an exact date, but I will keep time available around your estimated due date. Newborn portraits will only be done within the first 14 days of birth.
