How to Connect with Potential Clients through Your Photography Blog
A lot of photographers that I meet are only using their blog as a sort of extended portfolio to showcase their work and they are missing out on a lot of opportunities. Your blog can be a client magnet that brings new potential clients into your world but only if you use it strategically.
As a photographer, you'll find that your client's will usually have questions when they hire you. This is a huge opportunity in disguise.
One of the best things you can do to be found by your ideal client is to answer their questions. I want you to write down a list of questions you get all the time from clients and potential clients. You can answer these questions in your blog posts and when people search for answers to their questions, your blog posts are going to come up.
When you have interesting & helpful content, your website visitors will spend time on your site reading it. This means that they will learn more about you and what you have to offer. When you position yourself as a resource instead of just a service provider, you become much more valuable to your potential customers and you set yourself apart from your competition.
When you write truly helpful blog posts, people will share them. No one will likely share your services page and few people will share a post about someone else’s session because it doesn’t matter to them. What matters to them is the problems they are facing and you have to keep that in mind when it comes to marketing. You’re going to be writing blog posts anyway so you may as well write something that is going to get you the biggest return. Not only will a helpful blog post be shared more often, but you can share it more often because it is helpful to the person reading it. They will thank you for sharing it!
People like to do business with those they know, like and trust - and by writing helpful blog posts, they’re more likely to know you better, and trust you.
